Holition was approached by Burberry Fashion House and Coty to build an Augmented Reality beauty tutorial web experience.
The tool included a face analysis, a look recommendation (based on users features and needs) and a series of Augmented Reality tutorials.​​​

1. The Brief

The collaboration with Burberry Beauty centered around their concept for Beauty AR tutorials. The goal was to conduct UX research and propose UI designs adhering to their established guidelines. The envisioned tool, named Burberry Beauty Virtual Studio, aimed to provide complex AR tutorials for makeup application and virtual try-ons.

2. The Solution

The project involved comprehensive UX research to understand user preferences in the beauty tutorial and virtual try-on space. Proposed UI designs aligned with Burberry Beauty's guidelines, ensuring a seamless and brand-consistent user experience. As the Lead Visual Designer, wireflows and prototypes were crafted for testing, offering a visual roadmap for the development of the Virtual Studio tool. The tool featured intricate AR tutorials for makeup application, delivering an interactive and informative user experience. Virtual try-ons allowed users to experiment with different beauty products virtually, enhancing the online shopping experience.

3. My Role and Involvement

As Visual Design Lead I initiated discussions with Burberry Beauty to understand their vision for the Virtual Studio. I led the UX research phase, incorporating user insights into the design process. I created wireflows and prototypes for testing, facilitating an iterative design process. I developed the entire visual identity of the Burberry Beauty Virtual Studio, ensuring a cohesive and visually appealing aesthetic. I oversaw the implementation of complex AR tutorials, ensuring alignment with aesthetic and educational objectives and collaborated closely with the development team to seamlessly integrate design elements into the Virtual Studio tool. The result was a sophisticated and user-friendly beauty tool that reflected Burberry Beauty's brand identity, providing an engaging and informative virtual experience for users.
